Biography

Sean Winkler is a Lecturer in Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University and the University of Redlands. He received his PhD from KU Leuven in Belgium in 2016 and has held postdoctoral research fellowships at the Higher School of Economics in Russia and the Vienna Circle Institute in Austria. He currently researches the theme of “Creativity in the Age of Information”, in which he addresses the question of how digital media have affected the nature of creative expression. His specializations include the History of Modern Philosophy and Continental Philosophy, with competences in Classical Chinese Philosophy, History and Philosophy of Science and Phenomenology. He is the author of Boris Hessen and Philosophy: The Socioeconomic Roots of Classical and Modern Physics, along with articles which have appeared in journals such as the Graduate Faculty Philosophy Journal, Historical Materialism, Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology, Journal of Early Modern Studies, Science in Context, Society and Politics and Telos.
